In 2009, Chris Mix started working part-time as a freelancer for CBS News. From June 2009 to June 2020, he progressed from a production associate to full-time roles as associate director and supervising graphics producer for CBS Evening News. During this time, he worked with four anchors and managing editors: Katie Couric, Scott Pelley, Jeff Glor, and Norah O’Donnell. Chris also contributed to shows like The Early Show, CBS This Morning, 60 Minutes, 48 Hours, CBS Sunday Morning, Face The Nation, and many special events, including Presidential Debates and Election Night coverage.
In 2014, his team’s work was recognized by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for the 2013 CBS News Special on the Boston Marathon Bombing. Below are samples of work created by the CBS News Graphics Department under Chris’s leadership.
